Randolph Wingate!

What are your duties as a CIS mentor?

As a mentor, I am tasked with providing guidance, motivation, and being a role model to my mentee while creating a stronger bond with him.

Why did you want to mentor with CIS?

I feel that it is very important to give back to the program that opened up doors and opportunities for me that I could only have dreamed of.

How do you think your mentee has benefitted?

Even though I’ve known Camron for years, I never really took the time to sit down and get to KNOW Camron if that makes sense….Me being a mentor is still fairly new and we have not done much. I feel like he looks forward to my visits, which is good. I want him to open up to me a bit more so he will feel more comfortable with me trying to guide him in the right direction.

What are some of your goals and aspirations as a mentor with CIS?

As a mentor, I would love to be able to guide my mentee on a path to success. For me, this is a big task because I am 19 and have so much more to learn in life… I look at Camron as a little brother, so I want to be able to go have fun with him and at the same time teach him… My mom would call this knocking out two birds with one stone.
